Kangaba Historic Day Tour with Kamablon Visit
In the south-western part of Mali lies the humble town and commune of Kangaba, which also serves as the seat of the Kangaba Cercle in the Koulikoro Region. Kangaba is well-known for its UNESCO World Heritage cultural site Kamablon, a circular brick building with a conical-shaped roof found in the town center. On this tour, we will learn more about the history of the town and meet its friendly locals.
What to expect
Start the day by visiting the historic site and learning about Kouroukan Fouga, the constitution of the Mali Empire created after the Battle of Krina in 1235. Continue to the sacred Kangaba Box in Kamablon, before exploring and meeting the locals in the village of Kela. If time permits, your guide will also take you to some artisanal gold mining villages around Kangaba.
